This morning James had a presentation to do in downtown Denver, so he dropped us off at the Colorado Museum in Broadway where we were greeted by a two ton Buffalo:


We walked into the entrance:


and there in the foyer was a Cheyenne tipi:


Part of the Museum was given over to the history of Colorado which was a repeat of the sad history of what happened to the indigenous people of any country that was overtaken by Western Nations - exploitation for resources like land. In Colorado this was exemplified in the worst possible  way by the massacre of the Cheyenne and Arapaho people - mostly women and children reminiscent of Rangiaowhia:
