Saturday 12th July - Harry Potter & Broadway New York
Saturday 12th July
Another lovely warm day in Congers, New York State.
This morning's breakfast was lovely too - French toast, Maple syrup, hot Banana in sauce, Blueberries and mini sausages!
Broadway - New York City
On the way to see the Harry Potter performance we had to cross the Hudson River to get to Manhattan Island and Broadway. This meant crossing the Washington Bridge - an impressive piece of engineering:

When we parked the car it looked like just a place where a building had once been and had been taken over by a parking man. He and a mate flagged potential customers in and they sandwiched the cars into the space while the driver waited:
Then we walked up Lily Street to the Lyric Theatre:
My whole impression of this on a Saturday afternoon was of a packed mixture of people, cars and would you believe it cyclists.
Harry Potter & The Cursed Child
Eventually we got to the Lyric Theatre:
Even here they had security checking bags as we walked in at the entrance:
... and into the foyer:
Up the stairs we went and got into our seats to view the stage:
The Laidlaw family enjoying the show:
The magical effects on stage in a live, three hour performance were astounding!
Afterwards we walked a different way back to the car park and found one of those leafy New York avenues:
To my astonishment after a two minutes drive in the car back down to The Hudson River there was a huge aircraft carrier "The Intrepid" moored at a dock, now set up as a museum:
On the way home we stopped at the town of Nyack just before Congers to have something to eat in an American diner - I forgot to take my camera.

Really enjoyed pic of the family enjoying the show. Cheers Terence
